Real-time Status Updates

Grantsfire is an open community project. We have done our best to be as transparent as possible about our goals, the various roles, and our tasks, and we invite all who are interested to either eavesdrop or Get Involved.

Operations

We have a core team that handles operations. Most of the interaction occurs on our Twitter-like status channel -- quick updates, check-ins, cries for help, etc. We encourage you to check there frequently. We have a weekly, 15-minute standing call on Thursdays at 9am PT / 12pm ET. Dial-in info is:

Phone: 712-338-7131
Access code: 182-161-915

We go around and updated everyone on:

  • What we've been doing
  • What we're going to do
  • What we need help with

We also use a mailing list for more in-depth operational discussions.

We hold a monthly Requirements gathering phone call the first Tuesday of every month at 9am PT / 12pm ET. We use these calls to prioritize our tasks. These calls are open to anyone, but the calls will be facilitated aggressively. Most of the open-ended discussions should happen on one of the mailing lists or on separately scheduled phone calls.

Everything is documented here on this community workspace. Software development tasks are tracked on the issue tracker. See Development Process for more details.

We've tried to document as much as possible here on this public space, but there is some sensitive material (such as account usernames and passwords). For core team members, that information is available on Solpath's Basecamp account.

We try to keep the community informed as often as possible by following these Communication Guidelines.
